Privacy & cookies

The short version
- Everything you type into the simulator stays in your browser. We never receive it.
- We do not ask for, or hold, any account, name or email address.
- Our web server keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, for 10 days.
- Advertising on this site is served by Google and uses cookies. You can opt out.
1. Who we are
This site, SimulateFin (simulatefin.com), is operated by Assaf Schwartz, an individual trading as SimulateFin. For the purposes of the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, Assaf Schwartz is the data controller for the limited personal data described below.
The fastest way to reach us about anything on this page is info@simulatefin.com, which is monitored. A postal address for formal correspondence is available on request.
2. What the simulator does with your figures
Every calculation on this site runs inside your browser using JavaScript. The figures you enter — revenue, churn, salaries, headcount, cash balance — are never transmitted to us, never written to a database, and never logged. There is no account system and no server-side storage of your inputs.
Your current scenario is encoded into the page address (for example ?mrr=20000&churn=2.5) so that you can bookmark or share it. That address is only transmitted anywhere if you choose to share it, or if you reload the page — in which case it appears in our server access logs like any other page address.
3. Server logs
Like virtually every website, our web server records a line for each request. Each entry contains your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the response status, your browser's user-agent string and the referring page. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting — detecting abuse, diagnosing errors, and keeping the service available.
Logs are rotated daily and retained for 10 days, after which they are deleted automatically. We do not use them to build profiles, and we do not combine them with any other source of data. Under GDPR our legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) in operating and securing the site.
4. Browser storage
We store exactly one value on your device: your light or dark appearance preference, under the key theme in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device, is readable only by this site, and clearing your browser data removes it. It is not a cookie and is not used for tracking.
5. Advertising
This site is supported by advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
We do not receive, and cannot access, the personal data Google processes for advertising. We see only aggregate reporting such as impression and revenue totals.
- Opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of some third-party vendors at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.
- Google's practices are described in the Google advertising privacy policy.
6. Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are shown a consent notice before any advertising or measurement cookie that requires consent is set, in line with Google's EU user consent policy, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time through that notice. Consent is collected through a Google-certified consent management platform.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdSense | Third party | Ad selection, frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention. | Set by Google; see their policy |
| theme | First party (localStorage, not a cookie) | Remembers your light or dark appearance choice. | Until you clear site data |
8. Analytics
We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics or tag-management product. If that changes, this page will be updated before the provider is enabled.
9. International transfers
Google may process advertising data outside your country, including in the United States, under the transfer mechanisms described in its own privacy documentation. Our server logs are held on the server that hosts this site and are not transferred elsewhere.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
In practice we hold almost nothing about you: no account, no name, no email. The only data we control is a server log entry containing your IP address, kept for 10 days. Requests about advertising data should be directed to Google, which is the controller for that processing. To exercise a right with us, contact info@simulatefin.com — please include enough detail (such as an approximate date and time of your visit) for us to locate the relevant entry before it expires.
11. Children
This is a business finance tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
13. Contact
Questions about this policy, or a request concerning your data, should go to info@simulatefin.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you need a postal address in order to make a formal request or complaint, ask and we will provide one.
This policy describes how the site actually behaves, but it is not legal advice. Complete the bracketed fields and have it reviewed against the law of your jurisdiction before relying on it. See also our methodology page for what the simulator does and does not model.
